Want to know how much a medical procedure will cost? Don’t wait until you get your bill, look it up online before and see if you can find a better price

This is a pretty American issue but not all hospitals have the same prices for each procedure. Hospitals [are required](https://blackdoctor.org/2022-bet-hip-hop-awards-host-calls-out-healthcare-system-for-robbing-patients/) to post prices on their websites, so that’s a good first step if you’re curious although some of the documents are hard to read.

Others have created some tools to make this searchable, I’ve been using [Finestra Health](http://finestrahealth.com) although they’re not everywhere yet(check the map) but they are expanding quickly. It’s basically a free search engine. Super easy

I live outside of Boston and the search showed just how much my bill last month was. I’ll be using it going forward for sure.

So yeah. Don’t let them pull a fast one on you. Save a buck or two by doing some research ahead of time
